4/5 STARS - End of the Rush peak windowI'll go out on a limb here and state the conclusion I've reached watching Rush for 30 years. Their peak, primo period is not Counterparts, nor is it the long-haired 70s years with the side long tracks (as cool as those are). Rush's peak was a 3-album swing be...
Patchworks"- This opens up with similar arrangements to the previous song. Organ, guitar riffs, synthesizers and growled vocals. Musically, this has some really good moments. I don't think it's the best from the album, though, as it can be pretty forgettable. Conclusion: 3 stars. by J-Man

For people that love Rush songs like The Enemy Within, Witch Hunt, Vital Signs and the Grace Under Pressure tunes as much as I do, this will nevertheless be a pleasing concert. As a bonus, this package contains a regular CD with this concert as well. 3.5 stars. A Show of Hands

Enough of letting loose my frustrations; how is the songs ? Rush debuted with a rockabilly track, believe it or not. Not Fade Away was recorded by Buddy Holly some moons ago. Why Rush ever did a Buddy Holly cover is beyond me. Maybe there is some similarities....... Suburbia and the middle class. Well, s...

What a stunning little piece of work this is! From the moment you start this up you're blasted to the other side of the galaxy - literally! This album really is brilliant, Rush were one of the greats of the 70's and they manage to show it in this album, and not just this album either, but several...

Hemispheres is no less than a PROG Rock record, yet it's just not the side I particularly enjoy from Rush, and well it's not that it's a excellent PROG Rock record either, A Farewell to Kings deserves that position. More about RUSH at Progarchives.com

In this album we saw Rush take a very big leap in their music, and the track 2112 is the result of that leap. I'm not going to analyze this album further, but there is one thing i have noticed with Rush music. It really catches the ear of the listener. I have many friends who dislike prog in general, b...

I think for some people the choice of material would be off-putting, and whilst I agree the setlist is not faultless (the setlist from Exit Stage Left is perfect) you have to appreciate this is right up- to-date, hence the setlist, and in my view this is a top-notch concert DVD. It's thorough...

Moving Towards a Softer Act?Sorry if this review will provoke some shock for fellow Prog fans, but I still don't get how this is Rush's most acclaimed effort on the Prog realms. A Farewell to Kings was for me Rush's peak on the creative side of music as well as instrumentally, showing very wel...
